Handle the legal transfer of documents for the DMV
Process all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled; prepare tax and title documents. Submit all legal tansfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Verify that funds have been collected and the correct lien holder paid off before processing title applications. Check for accuracy in the application and ensure that all information is complete.
Maintain a system to verify out of state titles; maintain a list of outstanding title work and report to management on the status of any missing or problem titles.
Process annual renewal of dealer tags under the direction of the Comptroller. Stay informed of title regulations and attend seminars held by local licensing bureaus. Cross train others to handle daily title clerk duties.
Understand the terminology of the business and keep abreast of technology changes in products and services.
Know and understand the federal, state and local requirements which govern the company’s business.
